4 out of 5 stars It did the job   July 30, 2010
Shawn Hight (Liberty Hill, TX)
I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and Impala and live in central Texas. On the Impala it has had some scratches. I bought the Trailblazer used and it came from Arizona and had extensive clouding and some scratches. It did the trick on both cars. It took approx 30-40 minutes per car but that does include some time taping off the lights so overspray is contained. Just focus on the areas you need buff with one hand and spray with the other (yes Daniel-san buff on, spray off). Once it "feels" smooth, move to the next pad until you get through all 4. **Just make sure when using the pads you alternate between directions (i.e. pad 1 left right, then pad 2 up and down, pad 3 left right, pad 4 up down). Keep the spray going on the pads. Once you are done, use the little wipe on all of them going left righ and up down. (Turtle wax could have included more of the wipes but Oh well). I am planning on using some "ice" products to further protect the finish. Otherwise you can see the results as soon as you buff it all down. If it doesn't look good enough to you, just repeat the buffing steps to get it to where you need to. On the Trailblazer it took 2 runs, the Impala just one. Get a stool to sit on and have fun.

5 out of 5 stars Works wonders   July 20, 2010

I read other reviews and purchased this product. It is amazing. It does take time, about 1/2 hour each headlight, but they now look as good as new and it's amazing what a difference it makes in the overall look of the car. If I had known about this product before now I would have done this years ago when they first started to get cloudy. Very, very easy to use, just follow the enclosed instructions. A small suggestion, when you think that you're done, work on it another 10 or 15 minutes and it gets even better, almost as good as new.

This product worked very well. I was very impressed with a product that actually did what was advertised.

It did take some work and I actually performed the steps twice but the results were great. I only did the final, sealing, step once.

The process involves applying what appears to be a rubbing compound (included) on the lens attempting to remove all of the discoloration and then buffing it off. If that works then you are done except for applying the sealant. If it doesn't work then you perform the more agressive steps of using the fine sandpaper pads (included), in a particular sequence, with a spray bottle of lubricant (included) to make using the pads easier and avoid damaging the lens. After performing this process once, my lens wasn't quite clear, so I decided to run through the process a second time. This took off the remaining discoloration. Once that is done, you wipe on the sealant (which comes as a towelette) with a plastic glove (included). It does NOT say you have to wait 24 hours before driving the car but it does say it takes up to 24 hours for the sealant to dry/cure. So, you may not want to drive the car for 24 hours.

The inclusion of the sealant may be new to the product as I have read at least one other review indicating they had to use car was to seal the lens.

Overall, I would estimate I spent the better part of an hour for both headlights. Again, I ran through the steps twice.

5 out of 5 stars good result for cheap   July 5, 2010

Works great especially for ten bucks. Clarifying compound takes alot of yellow out of your headlights even without using other steps. I was kind of disappointed at first after using the restoration grit pads because they left some scratches. But using the buffing compound again and then the LENS SEALING WIPE as the final step filled in most of the scratches and dries to a nice shine. This kit makes a big difference(although it's not perfect) at a very low price. Be sure to push hard with pad #1 and lubricant to scrape away yellow oxidation.

5 out of 5 stars WORKS!!!   July 3, 2010

After reading the specs on Amazon, I bought the item from the local auto parts store. I used it today and it made a huge difference on my car. Granted my lights were not heavily hazed or yellowed, this made a huge difference.Lights are looking like new again. It took me about half an hour and I did not have to use any of the provided pads. The Leans Cleaning Compound worked flawlessly. I would definitely recommend this product.
